The St. Louis Senior Dog Project is a not-for-profit dog rescue organization specializing in in older dogs but taking in and finding homes for dogs of all ages and even a few cats. See our adoptable pets at www.olderbetter.petfinder.org.
Among dogs finding homes this weekend were two I wrote about this week: Jessie, the beagle/spaniel mix and Tiki, the senior schnauzer. I wrote about Jessie as one of those "easy" dogs -- so I expect she'll do well living in an apartment. Tiki is a super friendly schnauzer we all have trouble seeing as anything but a young dog. Congratulations to both.
We also placed Polly the senior West Highland Terrier. Polly is deaf and doesn't see too well either, but she's finally found her forever home. We thought we had her placed a few months ago, but she came back after her new owner turned out to be allergic to her. This time we think she'll be luckier.
Henry the puppy also went to his new home, and earlier in the week we found a home for Angel the Havanese, and it looks like at a couple more dog will go to a new home later this week.
But the weekend wasn't without some sadness. Chester, the old black lab mix, is in the hospital and not doing so well. And we also received news of a former foster who had died after jumping through the screen on a third-floor window. Sometimes it's hard to know what to say.
