The St. Louis Senior Dog Project is a not-for-profit dog rescue organization specializing in older dogs but taking in and finding homes for dogs of all ages...even puppies. See our adoptable dogs Here. We'll be at the Purina Pet Project Event from 10 to 2 Saturday, October 1, in the Purina facility in Grey Summit. It'll be an amazing day with many other rescues and shelters there as well.
The Kingsbury Animal Hospital is sponsoring its first 5k run for you and your dog from 8 to 2 October 8. And the proceeds will go to us. Here's the link that will tell you more:
Sometimes we have so many cute pictures, we almost overdose on the sweetness. Just looking puts us on a sugar high/ That's Wanda up there, a senior lady rescued from Jefferson County Animal Control and now the joy of her new human's life. She was one of the visitors at our recent reunion.
Others sent us pictures or emails because they couldn't attend. Charlie the beagle puppy is now a year old and living happily in Oklahoma. He attends a Canine Social Club twice a week (doggy daycare).
And below is Ella, formerly Velvet, another shelter dog. I'm told she's watching Dogs 101 here. She sent her regrets and this picture.
And here's Sissi, who was once abandoned to a shelter and is now being royally loved and spoiled.
Nate , below, was one of several adoptions over the weekend. Malibu Barbie, the tiny Pomeranian below Nate, is about to go to her new home too. Looks like Parker and Raven have found their homes -- two black dogs, and we have a strong possibility for Candice, another black dog.
Remember Abby? The plain brown dog who had such a sad life at the end of a chain and them suffered a series of medical problems. She's now adopted and even has her own Facebook page.
This week I'm going to pick up three dogs from a research facility. These dogs have been working as "flavor testers." They're ready to retire from all that.
And we're getting ready for the big Purina Dog Event next Saturday, an event we'll share with many other shelters and rescues. Sounds like a great day.
