The St. Louis Senior Dog Project is a not-for-profit dog rescue organization specializing in older dogs but taking in and finding homes for dogs of all ages...even puppies. We'll have dogs for adoption from 11 to 3 Saturday,December 8, in the Kirkwood Petco near I-44 and Lindbergh To see which dogs will be there as well as other adoptable dogs, go Here.
Wolfie is now named Bentley. He's very happy in his new home, says Kelly, who adopted him in August. Kelly says this Australian Shepherd pup is "the sweetest dog I could ever hope to have. And he's incredibly intelligent." Lucky Wolfie loves his walks in Tower Grove Park.
And this is Hershey's nose with five stitches. Hershey is a senior Husky mix who jumped on a more senior lab (Carmella) only to find out Carmella still knew how to defend herself. We call such things "geezer fights." Shouldn't they know better by now?
This is Bing Crosby. Yes, we're getting with the season. This is the way he looked when we pulled him out of Jefferson County Animal Control. What you can't see in this picture are the fleas. His next picture will be post grooming, and he will be a gorgeous dog them.
This is Hope, and she's hoping someone will see her inner beauty. The remarkable thing about this senior rescue from St. Charles City Animal Control is that the more you love her, the prettier she becomes. There's plenty to love in Hope.
And speaking of dogs with more inner than outer beauty, here's Sandy. Not only is she a tad scruffy and a lot deaf, but she also just had surgery to remove an enormous wart from the top of her head. Still, there's got to be someone for this old girl.
And this weekend, we hope for more adoptions.
