A couple months ago I wrote about Comet's Christmas wish. He wanted a home of his own -- a good home. Comet was almost skeletal when he showed up at a local animal control. Someone had found him running loose in a state park.
Time goes by and wishes come true. Comet is now at a healthy weight and happily settled into his new home. He enjoyed playing in the snow recently with the young people in his new family.
Wiley is another shelter dogs who recently found a home. He was timid and scared when I first met him. Now Wiley is happy in his new home. Settling in has not been without problems since Wiley and the other dog resident are still working on their relationship. Give them time. Here's a picture of one very happy Wiley.
We raised about $600 for our Indy Fund after I wrote about Nigel and Abby, two senior miniature pinschers. In the meantime, we've took in a lab who needs treatment for heartworm disease and a German Shepherd with a dislocated hip. Another dog has been diagnosed with bladder stones and a puppy with parvo. The need grows and we're hoping for more donations through our donate button at www.stlsdp.org.
