Coco with Maryanne
The St. Louis Senior Dog Project is a not-for-profit dog rescue organization specializing in older dogs but taking in and finding homes for dogs of all ages...even puppies. Meet your new best friend 11 to 3 Saturday, May 2, in the Kirkwood Petco. To see which dogs will be there plus other available dogs, go Here.
And please donate to St. Louis Senior Dog Project on giveSTLDay.org on May 5. See below for more information.
A couple weeks ago I wrote a blog titled "What's Wrong with Coco?" I couldn't believe that no one seemed interested in this almost perfect dog. After all, she was cuddly, friendly, housebroken and a lot of fun. Someone suggested that maybe Coco was a little too plain for most people.
Maryanne read my blog and decided to see for herself. She came, she saw, she pronounced Coco "beautiful" and she adopted her. Happy ending.
Coco is one of close to 5,000 dogs the St. Louis Senior Dog Project has helped since our founding about 12 years ago. We hope you'll remember us May 5 on giveSTLDay.org. On that day you can donate to the nonprofits you care about most. We hope we're one of your favorites.
To donate on May 5, just go to GiveSTLday.org. Our hashtag is #STLSrDog. The hashtag for the day is #GiveSTLDay. Please use these in any social media to help get the work out to more potential donors. This will take you directly to our page on the GiveSTLDAy site: https://www.givestlday.org/#npo/st-louis-senior-dog-project
` Another dog who's waiting too long to find her new home is Montana, a senior rat terrier mix whose former owner entered a nursing home. She also found her new home this weekend. Here's Montana.
Of course, when we adopt out dogs, we take new ones in. One of our newest is Moritz, an English Shepherd or shepherd/collie we found in Jefferson County Animal Control. He is one handsome 3-year-old boy. See for yourself.
Next week we'll also be taking in a number of small dogs from a puppy mill--shih tzus, poodles, yorkies, morkies and chihuahuas. These dogs will now be able to live the rest of their lives as pets. Stay tuned.
